Italian Prime Minister Ciriaco de Mita won final parliamentary approval for his new government. After a two-day debate, the Christian Democrat leader won a confidence vote in the Senate, 177 to 106. The coalition had won a vote of confidence in the Chamber of Deputies last Thursday. De Mita formed Italy’s 48th postwar government April 13 after a monthlong political crisis caused by the resignation of Prime Minister Giovanni Goria, a fellow Christian Democrat who served for 7 1/2 months.
