It is so encouraging, indeed, that Munoz has placed in proper perspective the hypocrisy and cynicism emanating from the political insensitivity in Washington. His article is precisely on target.
Our cultural heritage, and the spirit of Mexico’s heroes, endow the great Mexican brotherhood on both sides of the border with unparalleled pride; pride that is ruthlessly trampled by the conscience of the U.S. at a time when our mother country is going through a gravely difficult period.
I firmly believe this political attitude is designed to distract the conscience of millions of Americans from this great nation’s own failures and shortcomings.
