An unusual fund-raiser in which people bet upward of $10 each to guess which spot on a fenced-in Palo Alto football field would be fertilized by a cow netted two high school sports programs a total of $35,000. When Miss Cloverdale, the cow, finally left her mark at Palo Alto High School, one contestant won $5,000 for guessing the correct spot.
