Man Caught Atop Opening Drawbridge Falls to Death

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. — A 75-year-old man was caught atop an opening drawbridge and plunged 50 feet to his death on a concrete walkway, police said. Investigators said the bridge tender, who was suspended with pay, had a view of the entire bridge Friday and they did not know why he failed to see the man.
