A 46-year-old El Cajon man was taken into custody Thursday on suspicion of molesting two brothers and a third boy--ages 10 to 12--who live in his neighborhood, El Cajon police said.
Robert Irvin Potter, who police said is a self-employed sign painter, was arrested at his home in the 700 block of Avocado Street. An investigation by detectives in the El Cajon Child Abuse Unit began after a parent told police that she believed her son had been molested by a neighbor sometime since early June, according to Lt. Robert Lein.
Lein said Potter has no history as a child molester.
Potter was booked into County Jail on three counts of lewd and lascivious acts to a child and on three counts of child molestation. He is being held on $34,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned early next week.
