Engelstad to Attend Laker, Nugget Camps

Wayne Engelstad, UC Irvine’s leading scorer and rebounder last season, will attend camps with the Lakers and the Denver Nuggets, his agent said Wednesday.
Warren LeGarie, who represents Engelstad, said Engelstad, a 6-foot 8-inch forward, will leave for Denver next week and spend 10 days trying out with the Nuggets. He also has been invited to the Lakers’ camp, which begins July 31.
Engelstad, who was not selected in the National Basketball Assn. draft, averaged 23.6 points and 7.5 rebounds last season for Irvine.
