Local News in Brief : Cocaine Seized, 5 Held

Authorities seized 86 pounds of cocaine with an estimated street value of $12 million and arrested five suspected drugs dealers during an all-night sweep that ended early Thursday, sheriff’s deputies said.
Deputies said they followed Felix Beltran, 34, of Los Angeles to locations in Paramount, Hacienda Heights and East Los Angeles, obtaining a search warrant for each place he stopped.
They arrested him near Downey Road and the Pomona Freeway at 1 a.m. and seized 4.4 pounds of the drug, Deputy Detta Roberts said. Four others also were arrested. All were booked on suspicion of possession of narcotics for sale and held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
Deputies seized another 81.4 pounds of cocaine and several weapons, including an Uzi, a .45-caliber semi-automatic handgun and other weapons, and $3,300 in cash, Roberts said.
