S. African Police Kill 5 Guerrilla Suspects

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa — Five men suspected of being guerrillas were killed by police near the country’s northern border with Botswana and Zimbabwe, authorities said Thursday.
Police confiscated AK-47 rifles, grenades, pistols and several land mines after they killed the five in the town of Alldays on Wednesday, said Gen. Hennie de Witt, commissioner of police.
There were no casualties among the police, De Witt said, without giving any more details.
