El Monte : Interim School Chief Picked
An elementary school principal has been named interim superintendent of the El Monte Unified School District.
Jeffrey Seymour, formerly the principal of the district’s Columbia Elementary School, will serve as superintendent through June, 1989, or until a permanent replacement is found, according to Eva Campos of the district’s business office.
Joyce Roebuck, the district’s assistant superintendent for personnel, had temporarily held the superintendent’s seat after Duane Dishno resigned in July to take charge of the Bonita Unified School District.
The school board last week decided to delay searching for a new assistant superintendent for business services to replace Jerry Buchanan, who announced his resignation last week. Buchanan left to take a position with the Bassett Unified School District in La Puente.
