Canada Advances in Austria Cup at Tennis Event

Top-seeded Canada defeated Israel, 3-0, in the second round of the Austria Cup of the International Tennis Federation Veteran Championships Wednesday at the Lindborg Racquet Club in Huntington Beach.
Sweden defeated Italy, 2-1, the United States defeated Finland, 3-0, Argentina defeated Switzerland, 3-0, West Germany defeated Spain, 3-0, Austria defeated Norway, 3-0, New Zealand defeated Brazil, 3-0, and Australia defeated Japan, 3-0.
The quarterfinals of the Austria Cup, for players 55-64, starts today at 9 a.m.
