The California Building Industry Assn., with 6,143 member firms, is seeking a total of 7,000 members by the end of October.
The Sacramento-based trade association reported a record first half-year total of 802 new members, which included the 60 charter firms of the association’s newest member group, the Stockton-based Building Industry Assn. of the Delta.
Association President Roger C. Werbel, a Monterey Park home builder, said the membership growth has been given a “tremendous boost” by the association’s first statewide recruiting competition, sponsored by Great Western Real Estate of Santa Ana.
