The Penitentiary Look
Recently an abortion has sprung up on the Wilshire corridor. It represents a glaring example of what happens when a developer makes use of every inch of space. I urge Sam Hall Kaplan to see the massive hulk of ugliness being developed on the southwest corner of Wilshire Boulevard and Westholme Avenue in the Golden Mile. It looks like a white-washed penitentiary, with windows so small, the occupants will not know whether the sun shines or it’s raining.
To me, it would be far more appropriate to have a tall, slender skyscraper surrounded by open space, displaying fine outside art for the enjoyment of the motorists who travel through the corridor every day.
