The body of a man accused of repeatedly raping an 11-year-old Lake Elsinore girl at gunpoint was found in a grove of trees near the crime scene, Riverside County officials said. Gary Dean Boggs had been dead for at least a week when passers-by found his body a quarter of a mile from where the girl was attacked Sept. 17, Sheriff’s Sgt. Kent Hoover said. A 9-millimeter Luger pistol was found with the body. Coroner’s Investigator David Fortner said Boggs “had stated he was going to kill himself” to the victim. A warrant had been issued for the arrest of Boggs, 25, a maintenance worker at a mobile home park in the Lake Elsinore area. Deputies had been looking for him since the day the child was assaulted as she walked to a friend’s house through a brushy, wooded area.
