Armored Car Guard Slain at Bank

An armored car guard was shot to death at the rear door of a Panorama City bank in an apparent robbery attempt this morning, Los Angeles police said.
The man was shot at 10:40 a.m. at a back entrance of Security Pacific Bank, 8548 Van Nuys Blvd., near the Panorama City Mall, police said. The identity of the victim, who worked for Armored Transport Co., was not released, and police had not determined whether he had been robbed. Officers are looking for a man seen driving away from the scene in a black pickup truck.
