Power and greed. Cover-ups and chicanery.
A prime-time report on the presidential campaign? Not quite.
Yet in “Favorite Son,” a new NBC miniseries, Harry Hamlin and Linda Kozlowski cast their eyes on the White House. The three-part drama airs Sunday at 9 p.m., Monday at 8:30 p.m. and Tuesday at 9 p.m. on Channels 4, 36 and 39.
Based on Steve Sohmer’s novel of the same name, the story centers on a charismatic senator (Hamlin) and his ambitious press aide (Kozlowski of “ ‘Crocodile’ Dundee”) who deviously plot a path to the presidency.
Also in the cast are Robert Loggia, James Whitmore, Stepfanie Kramer, Kenneth McMillan and Ronny Cox.
