Local News in Brief : Orange : Broken Water Main Causes Traffic Tie-Up
A water main broke at the intersection of Katella Avenue and Main Street in Orange on Thursday, tying up traffic in the area for several hours, police said.
The main broke about 3:15 p.m., pouring water into the streets, Orange Police Lt. Ed Tunstall said. It took the city’s Public Works Department about 3 hours to contain the water flow, and crews were still working late Thursday to repair damage to the street.
Tunstall said investigators had not yet determined the cause of the break.
