Following is a list of the six most severe air pollution penalties assessed by the South Coast Air Quality Management District in October. Company: Morehouse Industries Inc., 1600 Commonwealth Ave. Fullerton Penalty: $2,500 Violation: Using inefficient paint spray equipment that resulted in excess hydrocarbon fumes. Company: Wood Dimension, 227 E. Meats Ave., Orange Penalty: $2,000 Violation: Operating painting equipment without permits. Company: Circle K Convenience Store, 14472 Brookhurst St. Garden Grove Penalty: $1,000 Violation: Faulty vapor recovery equipment on gasoline pumps. Company: Econo Inc., 7671 Liberty Ave. Huntington Beach Penalty: $1,000 Violation: Operating a paint spray booth without a permit and using an inefficient paint sprayer that resulted in excess hydrocarbon fumes. Company: Aharon Zanki (ARCO dealer), 2040 S. Bristol St. Santa Ana; 3270 W. Lincoln Ave., Anaheim Penalty: $900 Violation: Failure to maintain vapor recovery equipment at both service stations; failure to have a valid operating permit at the Santa Ana station. Company: Behr Process Corp., 1603 W. Alton St., Santa Ana Penalty: $700 Violation: Failure to cover paint mixing tanks. Company: Club Krystal, 880 W. 16th St. Newport Beach Penalty: $700 Violation: Emitting odors that create a public nuisance.
