Tremor Jolts Anchorage

PALMER, Alaska — An earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale jolted Alaska’s most populous area, but there were no immediate reports of damage, officials said Wednesday. The tremor struck just before midnight Tuesday and was centered about 80 miles west of Anchorage, a spokesman at the Alaska Tsunami Warning Center in Palmer said.
