Law enforcement authorities seized the 37-acre apple ranch of El Dorado County Supervisor Mike Visman under a federal law that says any property used to house illegal drugs can be confiscated. Visman was arrested Oct. 14 and charged with growing marijuana for sale on his ranch. He was arraigned Nov. 14 in Placerville Municipal Court, but has not yet entered a plea. Sheriff Richard Pacileo said the property will not be returned even if Visman is found innocent. The property will be sold and the proceeds will go to the sheriff’s office and the federal Drug Enforcement Administration.
