USIU Basketball Team Has Tough Night in 99-73 Loss
The United States International men’s basketball team had a rough time with California Monday night in Berkeley, losing, 99-73, and shooting 35.7% from the field.
The Bears shot a season-high 67.3%. USIU (3-3) got strong efforts from guard Paul Wilson (22 points) and forward Gray Williams (15 points).
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
The undefeated San Diego State women’s basketball team will meet the University of San Diego tonight at 8 in Peterson Gym. SDSU (5-0) is led by Chana Perry, averaging 26.6 points and 15.4 rebounds a game.
Her best performance this season came against Alabama State in the Reno Invitational, where she scored 31 points and had 27 rebounds. The Aztecs won that tournament championship and also their own tournament last weekend. USD (1-1) is led by Candida Echeverria, who is averaging 20 points a game. Last year, the Aztecs defeated the Toreras, 85-61.
