In Brief : Injured Wyoming Pair Will Play
SAN DIEGO — Wyoming’s Ted Gilmore and Shawn Wehrer may not be the most mobile with their right knees taped and braced in place, but they don’t plan to watch Friday’s Holiday Bowl from the sidelines.
Both were injured in 15th-ranked Wyoming’s lone loss, a 34-10 drubbing at Houston, and both until this week were considered little more than questionable for the bowl game with Oklahoma State.
Officially, wide receiver Gilmore was listed Wednesday as being at 90% of his ability, while Wehrer, an offensive guard, stood at 80% for Wyoming, 11-1.
Gilmore is definitely headed for post-season surgery to repair a torn ligament, while Wehrer is on more of a wait-and-see basis with a partially torn ligament and some cartilage damage.
