CS Long Beach Opens Big West Play Against No. 12 Nevada Las Vegas

The Cal State Long Beach men’s basketball team will open Big West Conference play against 12th-ranked Nevada Las Vegas at 7:30 tonight in the university gym.
The 49ers (3-6) are led by guard Tyrone Mitchell, a transfer from Arizona State who is averaging 13 points and 5.5 assists in the 2 games he has played since becoming eligible.
Stacey Augmon, a member of the 1988 U.S. Olympic team, leads Las Vegas (7-2 overall, 2-0 in conference play). Augmon averages 7.5 rebounds a game. Guard Greg Anthony is the team’s leading scorer with 14.5 points a game.
