The Monterey (Calif.) Film Festival has filed for bankruptcy protection after lasting just two years. A federal bankruptcy judge will meet with creditors this month in Salinas to begin ringing down the final curtain on the failed festival, which claims debts of $197,000. Attorney Michael Albov, the last festival board president, said the festival failed because it lacked a corporate sponsor and received only lukewarm support from Hollywood celebrities.
