Local News in Brief : Teen Allegedly Hits Officer in Drug Buy

A teen-ager allegedly hit an undercover narcotics officer in the face with a club during a drug buy in Venice, police said.
Officer Michael Arias, 30, fired his gun during the altercation about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 500 block of Westminster Avenue but missed the boy, Sgt. Bob Clark said.
The boy, whose name and age were withheld, was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer and was taken to a juvenile facility.
Arias was taken to Daniel Freeman Marina Mercy Hospital, where he was treated and released, Clark said.
