The odds of becoming a murder victim are five times greater for nonwhite males born now than for the overall population of the United States, the FBI said. Americans born today have a 1 out of 177 chance of being murdered, but the risk for nonwhite males is 1 in 38, according to the study based on 1987 Uniform Crime Reporting statistics added to a computer model.
