Santa Monica : Council to Share Chambers
City Council chambers will be used two mornings a week by Superior Court judges to hear small claims appeals because of serious overcrowding in the Santa Monica courthouse.
The council voted unanimously Tuesday night to approve the motion, requested by David Rothman, Santa Monica Superior Court presiding judge.
The court system will use council chambers without charge Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to noon through April 26.
Judges expect to hear six to 10 cases during each session.
