They remake movies all the time. But . . . bubblegum cards?
According to a company rep, Topps Co. Inc. will soon produce a deluxe edition of 143 Batman cards first released in 1966, featuring paintings of the Caped Crusader and his friends/foes.
Price: $20 at comic book ships, no gum included.
Meanwhile, “Blind Justice”--the three-book Batman series from DC’s Detective Comics--is now making its way into comics ships. The Books--Nos. 598, 599 and the 50th anniversary issue, 600--are co-written by Sam Hamm, a new-comer to the ranks of comic book writers.
Hamm wrote the story and co-scripted Warners’ much talked-about, upcoming (June 23) feature, “Batman.”
