This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Allman Brothers and some members of the band are getting together for a tour and a new album, due out in the fall. The lineup will include Gregg Allman, guitarist Dickie Betts, drummers Butch Trucks and Jai Johnny Johansen and a second guitarist and bassist yet to be named. The band lost Duane Allman and Berry Oakley in motorcycle accidents in the early 1970s, and broke up in 1982. In addition to the tour and album, producer Bill Levenson, who recently won a Grammy for an Eric Clapton retrospective package, is assembling a similar Allman Brothers record set. It will include a never-before-heard song from the Fillmore East show, “Drunk Blues,” with Duane playing slide guitar and Elvin Bishop singing.
