Tim Malloy, anchor of KCOP’s 10 p.m. news for the last four years and a prominent part of the station’s recent promotional blitz, was let go this week. Malloy anchored his last broadcast on Monday, just one week before the beginning of the May ratings sweeps. KCOP has consistently trailed independent news champ KTLA Channel 5 for years. There is speculation that Channel 2’s weekend anchor Hosea Sanders is a prime candidate for the job.
