Walt Disney Co.: The Burbank-based entertainment company said second-quarter net income rose 24% to a record $149 million and revenue advanced 34% to a record $1.037 billion. The firm said the record performance was led by outstanding results at Walt Disney World in Florida and continued growth in television and consumer products licensing activities.
