BELGRADE, Yugoslavia — Two top Yugoslav stars are seeking to become the first basketball players from their country to join National Basketball Assn. teams.
Vlade Divac and Zarko Paspalj, who helped Partizan Belgrade capture the Korac Cup this season and who also won Olympic silver medals in Seoul, said today they had signed a contract with a managerial agency dealing with the NBA.
An NBA spokesman confirmed that the two would be the first Yugoslavs to play for NBA teams but emphasized that they had not yet signed contracts with any club.
