Crack Down on Drivers Who Eat, Read, Shave
Regarding S. J. Diamond’s excellent column, “Mixing Phones and Cars Raises Safety Concerns” (May 19):
On the busiest freeways, and at peak hours, I frequently see drivers eating, drinking, shaving, making up their faces and--I swear it--reading newspapers! Such practices, along with radios and cassettes, make safety regulations a tragic joke. They warrant a license suspension and a mandatory fine of $150.
