Thomas H. Patrick, a Chicago-based senior investment banker, has been named chief financial officer and executive vice president by Merrill Lynch & Co., New York. Patrick, managing director of Merrill Lynch Capital Markets since 1982, will oversee the firm’s treasury, credit, audit, tax and purchasing operations. He succeeds Courtney F. Jones, who will join the firm’s investment banking division as a specialist in strategic advice to selected major clients.
