Delta Sues Former Employee: Delta Air Lines has filed suit against a former employee in an attempt to recover $1 million the airline says he embezzled from the carrier’s internal audit department, a spokesman said. The Atlanta-based carrier is asking that Douglas M. Chambers return the $1 million plus pay at least $500,000 in “exemplary damages.” Chambers of Carrollton, Ga., could not be reached for comment. Delta charged in court papers that Chambers defrauded Delta by taking blank checks and “wrongfully converting (Delta’s) property to his own use.”
