BOGOTA, Colombia — Soldiers raided an apartment today near the home of the U.S. ambassador, and police said four people were killed in grenade blasts and gunfire.
No U.S. Marines guarding the residence of U.S. Ambassador Thomas McNamara fired their weapons and no one at the embassy or residence was hurt, said embassy spokesman Steven Gangstead.
McNamara had left for Miami before the raid took place.
