Hanauer Sets Record for Unlimited Hydros

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Seattle’s Chip Hanauer piloted Miss Circus Circus to an unlimited hydroplane racing record Friday, averaging 150.407 m.p.h. during qualifications for Sunday’s Thunder on the Ohio.
The qualification lap was the fastest ever run on a two-mile course, said Lee Schoenith, deputy commissioner of the Unlimited Racing Commission.
