Members of the Hotel and Restaurant Union overwhelmingly approved a new, five-year contract with 12 major hotels in San Francisco. Officials of Local 2 said 94.4% of those voting ratified the pact, which calls for pay increases of $1.55 an hour over the life of the contract and a 60% increase in employer contributions to a medical care package. The health benefits include special services for AIDS patients.
