Bankruptcy Filing Has No Effect on Gustaf Anders Santa Ana Restaurant
No, that wasn’t the Gustaf Anders restaurant in Santa Ana that was listed among the bankruptcy filings the other day.
The Swedish restaurant at South Coast Village is alive and well, thank you, its managers said this week.
But some customers were jolted by newspaper listings showing a Chapter 7 bankruptcy filing by Gustaf Anders Partners and Magstrand Inc., formerly doing business as Gustaf Anders Bakery.
The filings are for the now-defunct Gustaf Anders restaurant in La Jolla, restaurant manager and maitre d’ Wilhelm Gustaf Magnuson said this week.
Papers filed in bankruptcy court show a total debt of $170,169 for the two companies. Magnuson and his partner, chef Ulf Anders Strandberg, also filed for personal bankruptcy. But Richard Marshack, bankruptcy attorney for the partners, stressed that the 5-month-old Gustaf Anders in Santa Ana is not affected at all by the filings.
