Met Life to Buy Pension Firm: New York-based Metropolitan Life agreed in principle to buy the United Resources unit of Integrated Resources. Terms were not disclosed. United Resources provides retirement and financial programs to more than 3,000 institutions and 70,000 individuals employed in public school systems, colleges and universities, nonprofit organizations and the health-care industry. Met Life also will acquire flexible annuity assets totaling $565 million, assuming responsibility for existing contracts.
