Borden Inc.: The nation’s biggest dairy company posted a third-quarter loss of $303.4 million, contrasted with a profit of $91.9 million a year ago. The previously announced loss resulted from a major restructuring, the New York company said. Excluding the one-time charge, 1989 third-quarter income rose 10% to $9 million. Revenue grew 5% to $1.96 million. Borden makes dairy products and snack foods such as Wise potato chips and Cracker Jack popcorn. It also makes pastas and other foods, and manufactures Elmer’s Glue and Krazy Glue.
