Skinheads Attack Shop Owner in Simi
Simi Valley police are looking for a group of skinhead youths who are believed to have struck the owner of a liquor store with a baseball bat after stealing a 12-pack of beer from his store and spray-painting four walls with racist and Nazi slogans and authorities said Monday.
The youths painted swastikas and the words “skinz” and “white power” at locations in the 2600 and 3600 blocks of Valencia Court, in Simi Valley, Sgt. Larry Twichell said. They also spray-painted the initials S.H., he said.
The vandalism occurred between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. Friday, Twichell said.
The same group of youths with shaven heads is believed responsible for the robbery Friday night of a liquor store in the 1900 block of Erringer Road in which the store’s owner, Kim Jin Hwan, was struck on the head by a baseball bat after he was confronted by seven to 10 skinheads. He had followed the youths into the store’s parking lot and attempted to make a citizen’s arrest after seeing them steal a 12-pack of beer, Twichell said. His condition was not available.
