Ford Electronics Plants Expand: Ford Motor Co. said it will invest nearly $300 million worldwide by 1992 for three new components plants. Ford recapped the previously announced investments for the new plants at a Detroit preview of a 145-watt, nine-speaker stereo system with a compact disc player and cassette player that it will offer for $1,000 more on its 1991-model Explorer compact sport utility vehicle. The system was developed with JBL, a California audio company.
