Covenant House

In response to “New Shelter Opens Doors . . . to Runaways,” Metro, Nov. 4:

How can other social service organizations “complain” that Covenant House has “too large a budget, and too aggressive a fund-raising campaign,” and thereby prevent Covenant House from opening too large a shelter?

It is mind-boggling, outrageous and incredible that any social service organization should prevent another organization from doing “too much” good, for fear “they will be driven out of business”!

What business? Is social service now a business, too? A competitive business where one organization tries to prevent another from helping too much!
