Traffic investigators are trying to find the cause of a two-car crash that killed a Reseda teen-ager, a Los Angeles Police Department spokeswoman said Monday.
The victim, Gema Baker, 17, was westbound Saturday morning on Roscoe Boulevard when her Honda Accord collided with a Toyota Celica at Corbin Avenue, said Officer Leona Thomas. Baker’s car struck a traffic signal pole. Baker was taken to Northridge Hospital Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead at 7:26 a.m., Thomas said.
The driver of the Toyota, Maria Vergara, 28, also of Reseda, was treated for cuts and a broken ankle, Thomas said.
