California: IN BRIEF : SACRAMENTO : W. Leonard Elected Chairman of CTC

The California Transportation Commission announced the election of William E. Leonard of San Bernardino as chairman for 1990. Leonard, owner of the Leonard Realty and Building Co., was appointed to the commission in 1985 by Gov. George Deukmejian, and to a second term that will expire in February, 1993. He had already been a member from 1973 to 1977, including one year as chairman. Elected vice chairman for 1990 was Bruce Nestande, a former legislator who is vice president of the Arnel Development Co. of Costa Mesa. He was an Orange County supervisor from 1981 to 1987.
