El Cajon
An El Cajon man pleaded guilty Friday to child molestation involving the use of an electrical cord around the throat of an 8-year-old Cub Scout.
Jerry Frazier, 21, who recently was a distribution manager for The Wall Street Journal, pleaded guilty just as his preliminary hearing was about to start.
Frazier admitted to fondling the genitals of the Cub Scout, who told his parents of the incident after Frazier had taken him to his house after a Scout meeting.
Frazier admitted to two allegations, that he kidnaped the victim and used a deadly weapon, the electrical cord, during the crime.
“It was wrapped around the child’s throat,” causing the boy to lose consciousness, Deputy Dist. Atty. Harry Elias said.
Frazier could receive a maximum sentence of 19 years in state prison if convicted..
Sentencing was set for April 5.
