LA HABRA : Welcome Mat Out for Film Companies
This North Orange County city may never rival Hollywood, but officials are putting out the welcome mat for production companies to film movies on local streets.
The California Film Commission, a division of the state Department of Commerce, provided La Habra and other cities with a suggested set of procedures to issue permits to film companies, and officials here followed through.
But despite the effort to lure film production to the city, officials doubt the move would put La Habra into the ranks of the country’s great filming locations.
“I don’t expect that we’re going to see a large run on La Habra by the filming industry,” said Councilman William D. Mahoney.
