PEOPLE : Nordstrom Puts Baugh Over Southland Outlets
The Nordstrom department store chain has named Jammie Baugh vice president and general manager of the company’s Southern California region. She replaces Betsy Sanders, who has taken a sabbatical.
From Nordstrom’s Santa Ana regional headquarters, Baugh will oversee 13 Nordstrom department stores and four Rack clearance stores. In August, Seattle-based Nordstrom will open its 14th Southern California department store in Santa Barbara.
Baugh, 37, had been in charge of Nordstrom’s San Diego region since 1981, overseeing the opening of all four San Diego County stores. A Seattle native and graduate of University of Washington, she joined Nordstrom as a salesperson in 1974.
Sanders, 43, has not set a definite date for her return to work, Baugh said. Sanders, a 20-year Nordstrom employee, was not available for comment Monday. “She’s been a mentor to a lot of us,” Baugh said of Sanders.
