Mater Dei Reigns Atop County Poll

Mater Dei High School, with a 16-game winning streak, is the top-ranked team in the Orange County Sportswriters’ Assn. prep basketball poll for the seventh consecutive week.
After a week of upsets, the poll has two new entries in ninth-ranked Foothill and No. 10 Trabuco Hills. Tustin and Ocean View fell out of the top 10 after losses.
In the featured game of the week, second-ranked Capistrano Valley travels to fifth-ranked El Toro at 7:30 p.m. Friday in South Coast League play.
