INDIANAPOLIS — Singers Willie Nelson, John Cougar Mellencamp and Neil Young are preparing for the fourth Farm Aid concert.
The singers and Gov. Evan Bayh were scheduled to hold a news conference this afternoon to discuss details of the April 7 event at the Hoosier Dome.
Mellencamp, a native of Seymour in southern Indiana, said earlier that raising money is important but so is creating the awareness of “how important the family farmer is to us all.”
Nelson said Farm Aid IV will focus on the ability of farmers to provide safe food at reasonable prices. Nelson and Mellencamp have raised more than $12 million for the nation’s farmers in three previous concerts.
